On the 26 of April, our partner EPFL (ECOLE POLYTECHNIQUE FEDERALE DE LAUSANNE) presented their study on “Real-time wetness sensation” in a poster session during the 2023 IEEE-EMBS NER conference (in Baltimore, MD, USA).

In the study, EPFL investigates the encoding of the wetness sensation via cold, dry stimuli using a custom wearable thermal device (the MiniTouch) that mimics the thermal properties of the human finger. EPFL reports similar detection rates in five healthy participants discriminating four moisture levels with their fingertips and with the thermode mounted on their forearms
