We’re excited to share the latest innovation from our partner Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna: a wearable haptic system designed to enhance motor rehabilitation through XR technologies.
At the core of the system is a lightweight and comfortable glove that combines soft materials, miniaturized actuators, and advanced human–machine interaction. The device is designed as a lightweight and comfortable glove, meant to provide an immersive and functional experience within XR environments. The glove integrates 3D-printed actuated thimbles capable of delivering fine tactile feedback on the fingertips without compromising hand mobility. The system also includes haptic modules on the wrist that provide directional signals to guide the user’s movements, enhancing precision and awareness during tasks.
The use of technical materials and a carefully balanced weight distribution ensures ergonomics, comfort, and full compatibility with XR technologies. The integration of realistic tactile feedback and directional cues makes the immersive experience more intuitive, informative, and engaging, with applications in both clinical settings and home rehabilitation. We’re thrilled to spotlight Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna’s latest breakthrough: a soft, wearable haptic glove for XR-based motor rehab.
